Tutorial: Steampunk Gears

Hi there, here is a quick and easy tutorial how to make your own steampunk gears!  Download the Gear fontand install: https://www.dafont.com/gears-icons.font

Now we will make our texture.
Open a new image 200 x 200 pixels.
Fill with #523818.
Add Noise: Uniform, 100%, Monochrome checked
Duplicate, add Noise with same settings.  Add Gaussian blur of 1.  Sharpen 5x.
Add new layer and fill with #523818.
Play with the top two layers until you get something you like.
Merge and save to your textures folder if you like.  Also, try adding different colors to the top layer and keep playing with blend modes.
Open new 500 x 500 transparent canvas.
Set your materials palette fill to the pattern you just made.
Choose your text tool, set size to 300 - 400 and choose a gear that you like.
Optional:  Add inner bevel of your choice or use mine:
