MIA

I have been MIA since Halloween - there really just isn't enough hours in the day! I really want to try to do a Christmas kit but I'm not sure I'm going to have enough time. My laptop caught a very nasty virus a few weeks ago and I had to reformat. I still haven't been successful in transferring my files over and I've installed Windows 7 only to find that it isn't compatible with some programs, so I have gone back to XP but I haven't had a chance to reinstall any progs yet. I am very frustrated lol! I need my psp fix - there are some fanstic tuts out that I want to try, and I want to get some offers up on MySpace :( I'm hoping that soon I'll be back in the swing of things!

Photshop Course - Pen Tool

I just finished this week's Photoshop lesson. The lesson was all about the Pen tool. Gosh, they make it look soooo easy! I have never gotten the hang of it in PSP (oh those dreaded bezier curves!!) but it looks so much easier in PS and I can't wait to play around with what I've learned! I am also signing up to take the Dreamweaver classes, too. For anyone who wants to sign up for any of their classes (Flash, Lightroom, Photography, Photoshop, Dreamweaver visit HERE. They're all FREE!

Floral Bling Frame

In addition to taking the Photoshop courses, I also have been taking some designer lessons as well. This is a frame I made in one of them and thought I'd offer it here in case anyone would like to use it for their own personal use. Just click on the image to download. (I still suck at previews, but the frame is much nicer than it looks here lol)

When I get time, I will add some other things I've made to share with you. :)

FREE 6-Month Photoshop Course!

I attended a webinar this evening for Photoshop and that was a lot of fun! It is a free 6-month course. Currently we are into week 2 (I missed the first one, dang it!). You can sign up for it HERE. Timezone is PST. Tip: If you sign up, you should probably log in an hour before the actual start time. There are only 1000 available spaces.

Here is the certificate from tonight's course :)

Misfits Challenge #3

The last Misfits scrap challenge theme was "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and I did not get mine done in time. I have ever even watched the film, but I rented it from Netflix just to get a feel of it and to get some ideas. I haven't even watched it yet. I know, I'm slack. I still plan on doing a kit with the theme and color pallette, just don't know when I'll get around to it lol. This month's theme is, of course, Halloween and I need to get started on that. I haven't been feeling well lately so I haven't even gotten started on it. Hopefully I'll feel well enough to start on it this weekend.

Mistfits Scrap Challenge #3

I did another scrap challenge for the Misfits forum - this one was a lot of fun! A lot of the things in this kit I made myself - no actions or scripts. The guitar in the kit is from a picture my husband took of his pride and joy that I tubed :) I originally wasn't going to use all the colors in the colorswatch, and just make it basically red/black but changed my mind. I think it turned out pretty good, and I'm proud of the elements I made all by myself :)
This kit contains: 17 papers (7o0 x 700, 300 dpi) 4 Buttons 1 Set of charms 6 Frames 1 Guitar 1 Heart lock 4 Pockets 4 Records 4 Ribbons 3 Tags 4 Ticket stubs 2 Chains 4 Clips 8 Flowers 2 Glasses 9 Hearts 3 Heart dangles 4 Plectrums
I hope you enjoy the kit! Please visit the Misfits Blog HERE. Download my kit HERE.

A new hobby!

Hi, I decided to start this blog as a place to showcase my scrapkits and tutorials. Yes, I did say scrapkits lol. Up until now I have only ever used them for tuts and collected them but now I may have decided to join the realm of designers :)

I have just made my very first scrapkit! After working on it, I can definitely appreciate the hard work and hours that go into making one, even using scripts and actions lol. Whew! It really is hard work and time-consuming (especially with a 20-month old bundle of energy running around getting into everything lol)! It was also a lot of fun! What got me to make one was a challenge on the Misfits forum. Now I think I have a new hobby lol. I did my kit all in one day, so I really didn't take the time to decide on a particular theme or what kind of elements I wanted to add, so I just kinda threw a few different things in there lol. I am looking forward to making my next kit, this time taking the time to really think about particulars and specifics.

Tadaaaaa.....

This kit includes:

7 papers (700 x 700)
4 flower brads
2 scalloped ribbons
2 butterflies
6 scalloped frames
2 circle tags
3 Ribbon bows
4 pearls
2 Metal heart ribbons
2 leafy branches
1 label
3 bows
5 buttons
5 flowers
color swatch
